It has a classical feel certainly, with the children’s choir and elements of Tchaikovsky, it lends it a feeling of age.

Adding to an already stellar line of commercials, Audi's new spot "Goodnight", cleverly questions what it means to be a luxury brand. As a camera moves through a garishly over-decorated mansion, objects that represent old fashioned comfort come to life, and are discarded in favor of sleek new technology; represented by the interior of the new Audi A8.

The voice over echoes that of the famous book, "Goodnight Moon", the 1947 children's book by Margaret Wise Brown. Perhaps the voice recalls a nostalgia still felt by the target demographic, but also ushers in the idea of efficiency and style replacing the tenants of stodgy and excessively opulent luxury.
